Elvis Presley - 50,000,000 Elvis Fans Can't Be Wrong
£19.99
Available
50,000,000 Elvis Fans Can't Be Wrong (Elvis' Gold Records – Volume 2) was originally released back in 1959. In the two years that Elvis had by then spent in the army, the world of Rock'n'Roll had changed dramatically; Buddy Holly and Richie Valens had died in a plane crash, Little Richard had quit, Jerry Lee Lewis and Chuck Berry had fallen from grace and Jimi Hendrix bought his first electric guitar. This album was meant as a pacifier for Elvis' fans in the two year hiatus he would be unable to record any new songs. It worked; after Elvis' return he was more popular than ever, which proved that all his fans had, indeed, been right all along. Learn More
Jeff Beck - Wired
£19.99
Available
'Wired' is Jeff Beck's 1976 solo album. It was this album that started a fruitful collaboration with former Mahavishnu Orchestra keyboardist Jan Hammer whom Beck toured with shortly thereafter. Beck and Hammer interplay extensively between each other by making his synthesizer sound almost identical to a guitar. The result was a more "synthesized" sound, hence its title, 'Wired'. Some tracks include members of the 'Blow by Blow' lineup. These tracks were recorded during the 'Blow by Blow' sessions but were left off that album and carried over to 'Wired. One of the most highly praised tracks is Beck's interpretation of the Charles Mingus classic 'Goodbye Pork Pie Hat'. Learn More
Johnny Cash - At San Quentin
£19.99
Available
Even though Johnny Cash's "At Folsom Prison" is the better known prison recorded live album, "At San Quentin" is seen as the artistically better album. Cash seems wilder – some attribute it to the loss of guitarist and friend Luther Perkins – yet at the same time more comfortable and more in tune with his audience. He jokes about his drug addiction, he rebels against orders from the British television company that is recording the show, and he really seems to want to kill the bastard who named him Sue.
Wife June Carter shyly but surely joins in on 'Darlin' Companion', and he debuts the songs 'San Quentin' and 'Wanted Man', which he co-wrote with Bob Dylan.
After the huge success of "At Folsom Prison" this is Johnny Cash under pressure, and as he says himself, it's when he's at his best. Learn More

Leonard Cohen - Songs From The Road
By - Cohen, Leonard
£21.99
Available
"When legend Cohen takes to the stage, it's no less than a cultural event of Biblical dimensions." Following the celebration of his 40th year as a Columbia artist in 2007 and coinciding with his induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in March 2008, Cohen thrilled his fans by announcing his first tour dates in 15 years. One dozen of Leonard Cohen's most famous songs from those recent world tour performances - at auditorium halls, festivals, arenas, and stadiums - are now collected on Songs From The Road. Recorded in 5.1 surround sound Songs From The Road is not only a tribute to Cohen's consummate artistry as a concert performer, it is also a tribute to his enduring worldwide popularity at this time in his career. It is ultimately Cohen's ageless songs that draw faithful audiences - new fans and old - to his sold-out concerts.
Songs From The Road represents every decade of his life as a recording artist, from the 1960s ("Suzanne" from his 1967 debut, Songs Of Leonard Cohen; "Bird on the Wire" and his interpretation of "The Partisan" both from his second album, 1969's Songs From a Room) - to the '00s ("That Don't Make it Junk" from 2001's Ten New Songs). And even though it shares some songs with the 2009 Live In London release, the recordings on this album are unique. Throughout the tour, Cohen “seemed to find at every stop the sisters of mercy whom he immortalized in one of his oldest and most tender songs.... And now, wherever this precious man wanders, the famous blue raincoat notwithstanding, people sing 'hallelujah!'”

£59.99

Recorded at the end of a tumultuous decade (August 1969), Bitches Brew reflected the chaos and beauty of a society stretched and stressed to its breaking point. This genre-bending, barrier-smashing double LP of boldly new music with dense textures and lengthy performances broke every rule of commerciality. These 40th Anniversary Editions are a tribute to both the man who changed the course of jazz (“four or five times,” as he himself once quipped), and the album that virtually single-handedly brought jazz into the commercial rock era, becoming no.94 on Rolling Stone’s list of the 500 Greatest Albums Of All Time. Originally released in April 1970, Bitches Brew was informed by the music that Miles heard being produced in the era by Jimi Hendrix, Sly Stone, James Brown, Santana and Marvin Gaye, as well as the Beatles’ editing pyrotechnics.
The original double-LP’s six tracks –“Bitches Brew,” “John McLaughlin,” “Sanctuary,” “Miles Runs the VooDoo Down”, “Pharaoh’s Dance,” and “Spanish Key” – as formulated in the studio by Miles and his long-time producer Teo Macero, presented a seismic breakthrough in jazz/rock/funk/R&B. Session personnel included Miles on trumpet, Wayne Shorter (soprano saxophone), Bennie Maupin (bass clarinet), Joe Zawinul (electric piano), Chick Corea (electric piano), John McLaughlin (guitar), Dave Holland (acoustic bass), Harvey Brooks (electric bass), Lenny White (drums), Jack DeJohnette (drums), Don Alias (congas), and Jumma Santos (aka Jim Riley - shaker). The Anniversary Editions present the music recorded at the principal Bitches Brew August 1969 recording sessions as well as live performances of some of the same music recorded later, showing further development of the material in the hands of master improvisers. As Bill Evans said in the original liner notes for the record, the band did not play through any of these pieces prior to recording. Miles Davis laid out the themes before the tape rolled and the band improvised.
